With confidence in the promises of Our Lord Jesus Christ we announce the earthly departure of Metropolitan Francis of Devon, Metropolitan Bishop of the Wexford jurisdiction.

The Most Rev. Francis P. Facione, Ph.D.,died aged 79 on Friday, June 14, 2019. A bishop for forty-five years, His Grace was consecrated titular bishop of Devon on St. Andrew’s Day 1974, after election by the Provincial Synod of the Wexford jurisdiction as coadjutor to the Most Reverend Andrew G. Johnston-Cantrell.
Metropolitan Francis was the Son of the late Frank and Catherine Facione, stepson of the late Frank Dicicco. He was predeceased by his sisters, Dominica Deluca, Jennie Doa, Agnes Assemany, and a brother, Butch Assemany. He was a proud member of Kappa Psi and graduate of Wayne State University with a Ph.D. in 1982 and a licensed pharmacist.
His Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, June 18th at the Advantage Funeral Home – Hardy Chapel, with Burial following in Bethany Memorial Cemetery. Louisville, Kentucky.
