Nuntiatoria CXVII examines a series of disputes united by the tension between institutional narratives and observable reality: Cardinal Roche and the traditional Roman Mass; Rome’s handling of the SSPX crisis; Cardinal Hollerich and women’s ordination; the continuing institutionalisation of synodality; secrecy surrounding the Rupnik proceedings; Amnesty International’s apology following its controversial briefing; the publicly funded “Queer Milk” project; the recovery of vocational education; and the Old Roman response to ecclesial disorder. Under the theme Res Sunt Quod Sunt — “Things Are What They Are” — the edition argues for distinctions which neither ecclesiastical nor secular fashion can safely abolish.
