Obituary
Frank (Francis) Peter Facione was born February 08, 1940. He was the son of Frank Facione and Catherine (O’Agostino) Facione. His mother remarried Frank Dicicco after his father’s death. His sisters were Jennie Doa and Dominica (Mimi) Deluca, and adopted siblings were Agnes and Butch Assemany. He was ordained a priest by Bishop Andrew Johnston-Cantrell on July 14, 1974 and consecrated a bishop by Johnston-Cantrell on November 30, 1974. Archbishop Facione held roles as pastor of St. Mark’s Old Roman Catholic Church in Detroit, Bishop of the Diocese of Michigan and the Central States, and Presiding Bishop of the Old Roman Catholic Church in North America. The church relocated to Louisville, Kentucky in 1990 and he pastored St. Mark’s Old Roman Catholic Church there until its closure in 2013.
In addition to his ministry, he was also an Assistant Professor at Wayne State University and an Associate Professor/Assistant Dean at Sullivan University. Archbishop Facione was a graduate of Wayne State University where he obtained a BS in Pharmacy (1962), a MS in Pharmacy Administration (1974), and a Ph.D. in Pharmacy Administration (1982). He was a member of Kappa Psi and retired from its Executive Committee.
He died on June 14, 2019 and was buried at Bethany Memorial Cemetery on June 18, 2019 by the Most Reverend William Myers, SSM.
